Destination Wedding Photography FAQs

What are Destination Wedding Photography Fees and Prices?
Our destination wedding photography packages are the same as our regular wedding photography packages. The only additional costs that our clients would be responsible for are as follows:

-Airfare

-Hotel accommodations (typically 2 nights but dependent on the length of the event)

-Rental car (typically 3 days, if needed)

- Vendor meals for the day of the event(s)

How many people do we need to fly out?
Depending on your package we would need you to fly out up to 2 photographers. Second shooters are always a good thing to consider as it is another photographer to help capture all the details at your wedding. In addition, we would like to depart for the destination at least one day in advance. We want to have plenty of time to scout out your wedding venue as well as ensure that we will be on time to the location on the day of your wedding.  As for the departing flight, we typically have the tickets booked for the day after your last event, preferably at a later time.

Do I need to book the flights?
I am happy to make the reservations myself and send an invoice if you don’t want to add one more thing to your already busy planning schedule. Or, if you’d like to use your travel miles/rewards and book those flights on your own, we would just like to ask that you send us the flight information ahead of time just so that we may approve the details (flight times, transfers, layovers, etc.)

Do you offer discounted packages for destination weddings?
Unfortunately, we do not offer discounted packages for our destination weddings so the prices would be the same as our regular packages with the additional travel/lodging costs.

Wouldn’t it be easier to hire a wedding photographer who is already located at the locations of my wedding?
Not necessarily. Hiring a foreign photographer can be more expensive and tricky as most are included with resort packages. There might be hidden fine print that would indicate you only get 1 hour of photography instead of all day coverage, or receive 20 images from that day. It may also be harder to coordinate with them about your wedding day details and schedule, as communication may be an issue. I would be there to capture the entire day and related events, as well as deliver all the edited images like I would for any of my clients. I am here for you though the entire planning process until the images are delivered to you.

Where are your favorite destinations? I am up for an adventure to wherever your heart takes you. My bucket list ranges from the snow covered cliffs in Iceland, to the warm beaches of Hawaii. There is no destination too far and I hope to be the one to join you on the best day of your life.
